'Vigna Tonda' Trebbiano Spoletino Spoleto Doc

'Vigna Tonda' Trebbiano Spoletino Spoleto Doc 2021

Antonelli San Marco

Vigna Tonda can be described as an orange wine, due to the long maceration on the skins in ceramic containers that the grapes undergo. Trebbiano Spoletino was already known in the 1800s, but it has only gained greater fame in the last decade. This popularity is also due to the production of single-varietal wine at the beginning of the 21st century—something no one had ever done before—thanks to a careful selection of this grape variety’s characteristics. Trebbiano Spoletino has medium-sized leaves with a downy underside; the clusters are medium-sized, very compact, cylindrical in shape, and contain medium-sized, round berries. It is highly resistant to mildew but more susceptible to powdery mildew.
