Bolghieri Superiore is a wine made from a blend of Cabertet Sauvignon grapes with a smaller percentage of Merlot and Sangiovese. The vineyards stand on the top of the hill between Castagneto Carducci and Bolghieri at an altitude of 100 meters (330 feet), the soils are clayey-calcareous, and the climate is influenced by breezes from the nearby sea.
