Tasca d'AlmeritaSold out
Rosso del Conte is made from Nero d'Avola grapes, in larger quantities, combined with Perricone grapes. Nero d'Avola is the commonly used name of the Calabrian grape variety, derived from the Sicilian dialect "Calau Avulisi," meaning " descends from Avola." The grape is characterized by a medium-wide, conical-shaped, compact cluster with large, oval berries. It is very vigorous and therefore leaf growth must be kept under control, has great resistance to saline soils and withstands heat well without losing acidity . Nero d'Avola is the second most common grape variety in Sicily and the seventh in Italy.
Bright ruby red with garnet highlights. Red fruits in spirit, spices, balsamic notes, incense, moss, wet stone, iron, cinchona. Soft, velvety, full, warm, balanced, tannic, lingering.
