The Lessona appellation is located in the western part of the Upper Piedmont and consists of mineral-rich soils composed mainly of marine sediments and porphyritic rock. Altitudes average 350 meters and the climate is mild, with good temperature range, thanks to the proximity of Monte Rosa, which protects the area from currents from the north. In the Lessona area, the first cultivation of vines dates back to the 15th century, and by the 1600s the wine was already famous, and there are numerous records of the area's potential.
