Valmaggiore Vigna Audinaggio owes its name to the Valmaggiore area, which was recently listed as an Additional Geographical Indication. Audinaggio comes from the Piedmontese word "Autinagia," which means "small plot of land" referring to the small area where Nebbiolo grapes are grown. The vineyards are located in the commune of Vezza d'Alba on sandy soils facing southwest at an altitude between 220 and 270 meters.
