'Laccento' Ruché di Castagnole Monferrato Docg 2018

Montalbera

The name of the Ruché grape variety is thought to come from the word "roncet" a vine disease, which this variety resists very well, unlike other local varieties. Ruché originated in Piedmont, but according to some speculation it arrived in Piedmont from Burgundy in the 17th century. It currently grows almost exclusively near Castagnole Monferrato, and to grow best it needs cool areas and dry calcareous soils; it is a fairly hardy variety but is susceptible to powdery mildew.
