The name of the Tezzelenghe grape variety comes from "tàce-lenghe," which in Friulian dialect means "cuts the tongue" because of its high acidity and strong presence of tannins. It is considered one of the main indigenous grape varieties of Friuli. Tezzelenghe is characterized by a medium-sized cluster with a truncated cone shape with medium-sized, loosely packed clusters.
