Tenuta San FrancescoSold out
The Pepella grape variety takes its name from the berries that are sometimes as small as peppercorns caused by flowering problems. It is a relatively recent grape, documented only in the 19th century, and according to genetic studies is a variety distinct from all others found in Campania. The cluster is medium-sized, pyramid-shaped and sparse. It has low fertility with limited production, susceptible to Botrytis but partially protected by the thick skin and scarcity of berries.
Bright, saturated straw yellow. Fruit, herbs, flowers. Acidic, warm, structured, saline.
