The name Vigna Macchia dei Goti derives from the district in the town of Taurasi where the vineyards are located, which stand on clay and limestone soils about 350 meters above sea level facing southwest. Aglianico is the only grape used for the production of this wine; yields are deliberately very low to increase the quality of the product.
