Moscato Giallo is characterized by an elongated, large pyramidal cluster with round berries with a thick, bright yellow skin. It is a vigorous variety with good disease resistance. It grows well on limestone or volcanic soils and prefers low temperatures, which is why the vineyards are found mainly in Trentino and South Tyrol. According to some genetic studies Moscato Giallo is native to Italy, is a descendant of Moscato Bianco and has parentage with other Moscato varieties.
