Asinone takes its name from the vineyard where the Sangiovese grapes from which it is made grow. The vineyard faces south-southwest and stands on the hills of Montepulciano at an altitude of 350 to 400 meters. Production began after years of experimentation, the grapes are selected with extreme care and harvested by hand.
