Poggio al Vento takes its name from the hill on which the vineyards stand. They are located halfway up the hill overlooking the Orcia River, the land has a moderate slope and faces south. The wine is made only in the best vintages and is aged in oak barrels and in bottles.
Bright ruby red with garnet highlights. Red fruits, floral and balsamic notes, tobacco, cinchona. Tannic, acidic, savory, persistent.

Fermentation in steel vats at a controlled temperature of 28°C. Maceration for 20-25 days with daily pumping over. Conducting malolactic fermentation in concrete. Aging for 3 years in 25 and 75 hl Allier and Slavonian oak barrels, then 16 months in bottle.
