Poggio al Vento takes its name from the hill on which the vineyards stand. They are located halfway up the hill overlooking the Orcia River, the land has a moderate slope and faces south. The wine is made only in the best vintages and is aged in oak barrels and in bottles.

Fermentation in steel vats at a controlled temperature of 28°C. Maceration for 20-25 days with daily pumping over. Conducting malolactic fermentation in concrete. Aging for 3 years in 25 and 75 hl Allier and Slavonian oak barrels, then 16 months in bottle.
