Faro takes its name from the locality of Faro Superiore, in the Messina area. The vineyards stand on hills that reach up to 500 meters above sea level, overlooking the Strait of Messina, and are influenced by currents from the sea, which together with the warmth of the sun create a special microclimate that is perfect for viticulture, which has been present in this area of Sicily for centuries.
