'Bon in da Bon' Pigato Riviera Ligure di Ponente Doc 2018
BioVioSold out
The name Pigato comes from "pigau," which in local dialect means "speckled/spotted," or from the Latin "picatum" meaning "flavored with bitumen." According to genetic tests, Pigato is the biotype of Vermentino, but it is not clear. There are various theses about it; some studies show that the two grapes are the same thing. Producers claim that Pigato and Vermentino are distinct, and Pigato is said to have arrived on the Ligurian coast from Spain via Corsica.
