The name Passerina according to some derives from the small size and sweetness of the berries, which are highly sought after by greedy birds. It is a very hardy, disease-resistant variety with excellent production capacity. There are two main biotypes of this grape in the Marche region. The most common has leaves with five lobes, the small conical cluster has a few small berries and a soft color. The other biotype, on the other hand, is characterized by a large and compact cluster, the berries are larger and oval, and the leaves have three lobes.
