Ramandolo Docg 2013

The Ramandolo appellation is in the eastern part of Friuli Venezia Giulia and includes the municipalities of Nimis and Tarcento at the foot of Mount Bernadia, which shelters the area from the north wind. The name derives from the hamlet Ramandolo, and this is where the vineyards all face south at an altitude between 250 and 413 meters (1,500 and 413 feet). Slopes of even more than 30 percent are reached on these hillsides, which make working difficult and must be done manually. The rainfall is among the highest in the region and together with the strong thermal excursions create an ideal climatic island for the growth of these grapes.
