Refosco di Faedis, also called Refosco Nostrano, is named after the town that is considered the central point of production and probably also the native area of this grape variety. Genetic studies have revealed a kinship with Tezzelenghe and Refosco Gentile. Refosco di Faedis has a particular characteristic in leaf shape that can vary even in the same plant. It was considered a high quality vine as early as three hundred years ago, and the wines made from it were intended primarily for nobles and landowners.
